This season of Dancing with the Stars has been full of surprises.
But for me, Joey Graziadei is the contestant I’m rooting for the most—and not just because I really enjoyed his season of The Bachelor. But for the sake of journalistic integrity, yes, I love The Bachelor, and that is part of my lens on this situation.
With that out of the way, Joey has genuinely surprised viewers with his impressive dance skills. He moves with a natural rhythm that few saw coming but can’t look away from.
Speaking of rhythm: He even opened up one of his dance performances with a drum intro during Rock and Roll Week. I thought that was a fun touch! He’s proven himself to be not only an impressive dancer but also a serious competitor. I’d love to see him go all the way and win the mirror ball trophy.
Wife Kelsey Anderson’s Support for Joey Graziadei
Part of my support for Joey also comes from my admiration for his fiancée, Kelsey Anderson, who he met on The Bachelor. Kelsey has shown confidence and grace throughout the season, especially in response to online comments questioning how she feels about Joey’s dancing partnership with Jenna Johnson.
Since DWTS often includes chemistry-driven dances, some people speculated that Kelsey might feel jealous or insecure about the amount of time and physical contact her husband was having with Jenna. After all, dancing is a rather intimate sport.
But Kelsey handled it perfectly on TikTok, making it clear that she fully trusts Joey and has no reason to feel threatened—especially considering Jenna is happily married and a relatively new mom.
As Kelsey points out, she met Joey on The Bachelor alongside 25 other women. Ultimately, she won his heart, so she has good reason to be confident in their relationship.
Dividing the Bachelor Fandom
I’m also pulling for Joey because it seems a little unfair that ABC added another Bachelor alum contestant at the eleventh hour. Normally, Dancing with the Stars only has one Bachelor or Bachelorette alum per season. But this time, former bachelorette Jenn Tran was also cast.
This may have split some of the Bachelor Nation votes between her and Joey. Some fans believe Jenn was given a chance on DWTS after her difficult experience with her ex-fiancé Devin, as ABC might have been trying to make up for how poorly her season ended.
Though Jenn had her share of supporters, she was eliminated last week. That makes Joey the sole Bachelor alum still standing. Now that Joey’s come this far, I think he has a real shot at winning. With Jenn out of the competition, Bachelor Nation fans are rallying behind him.
Plus, Joey has shown so much growth as a dancer. He’s put in a lot of hard work and has definitely earned his place in the final stretch. So yes, I’m really hoping Joey wins—it would be a well-deserved victory for both him and his incredibly talented dance partner Jenna, who deserves credit for coaching him to this level.
I know his fiancée Kelsey will be thrilled to see him take home the trophy. And maybe he can teach her some of his new dance moves when he’s done.
