Hollywood just dumped Prince Harry and Meghan Markle again, leaving their future looking shaky at best.
Last month, Josh Kettle, the Santa Barbara-based consultant who has been serving as chief of staff to the Duke and Duchess, reportedly resigned after three months on the job. He joins Toya Holness, who was their global secretary until 2022, Christine Weil Schirmer, the former communications director, Samantha Cohen, Makel’s top aide and private secretary, and many more in what former employees are calling the “Sussex Survivors Club.”
Why Is the “Sussex Survivors Club” Expanding?
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Harry and Meghan are not the easiest people to work for despite their cheerful and easy-going public image.
“Everyone’s terrified of Meghan,” claims a source close to the couple. “She belittles people, she doesn’t take advice. They’re both poor decision-makers, they change their minds frequently. Harry is a very, very charming person — no airs at all — but he’s very much an enabler. And she’s just terrible.”
Are Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Bullies?
The British tabloids unjustly attacked Markle, but the Duchess developed a reputation around the palace in 2018. Buckingham Palace investigated Markle for “bullying behavior” after her treatment of two royal aides.
Markle denounced the investigation as a “calculated smear campaign,” but the bullying reports have followed her across the pond.
Former staff members claim Markle’s noisy tantrums and angry early morning emails earned her the title “Duchess Difficult.”
“She’s absolutely relentless,” one source tells THR. “She marches around like a dictator in high heels, fuming and barking orders. I’ve watched her reduce grown men to tears.”
Harry and Meghan Have “Messed Up” Their Netflix Deal
The couple signed a million-dollar deal with Netflix to support their new lives away from the royal family, but the deal has created more conflict between the families.
The streaming giant required tell-all content from the former royals, but the docu-series failed to satisfy the public’s curiosity and didn’t become the money-maker Netflix had hoped for.
The couple faces major issues with future Netflix projects because of a lack of sound on cameras filming them. Some sources suggest Meghan wants to control the narrative of their future reality show.
This problem and their lack of interesting pitches have fueled rumors that Netflix may not renew their deal, leaving Harry and Meghan with another revenue stream drying up.
The Couple Loses Their Spotify Deal, Too
Spotify’s leadership reportedly grew frustrated with the time it took the couple to conceptualize and complete projects for their podcast, Archetypes, despite their $20 million deal.
The couple is currently looking for new revenue streams. Meghan launched a new lifestyle brand called American Riviera Orchard.
