Sabrina Carpenter is grateful to have her mother in her corner.

In a recent interview on CBS Sunday morning, the Espresso singer opened up about how she has been staying grounded as her career skyrockets to pop star levels of fame, crediting her mom for being “so selfless.”

Tearing up, Carpenter says that some of the best advice her mom gave her is to “not take everything so seriously all the time. That’s been really helpful….my mom is such a positive person. I don’t think she ever made me feel like what I was doing was ‘too much’…ever.”

Sabrina Carpenter Dominated the Charts

The Taste singer landed a coveted slot as an opener for the South American and Australian legs of Taylor Swift’s record-breaking Eras Tour in late 2023 and early 2024. Carpenter also joined Taylor on stage in Singapore.

The exposure propelled the 25-year-old onto the Billboard charts, landing two top 10 hits shortly after.

On October 12, Carpenter’s Short n’ Sweet album returned to No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart, its fourth week there since late August. The album went platinum in September.

The meteoric rise to stardom Carpenter isn’t always easy to navigate. Luckily, the Nonsense singer has been able to lean on the support of her mother and friend Taylor Swift.

“There’s always going to be stress, there’s always going to be anxiety, there’s always going to be drama,” says of her meteoric rise to fame. “But for me, being able to laugh about it is really important.

Sabrina Carpenter Is One of the Biggest Pop Stars Today

Carpenter’s star started to rise after the release of her studio album Emails I Can’t Send.

While on tour with Taylor Swift, the two dueted White Horse during the acoustic portion of Taylor’s set.

Reportedly, Swift discovered Carpenter had covered the song and uploaded the video to YouTube when she was nine years old.

After the set, Carpenter took to Instagram to share her disbelief at singing on stage live with one of her biggest musical influences.

“9 year old Sabrina singing white horse would never see this […] coming,” Carpenter captions an Instagram post of her on stage with Swift. “i love you so so so dearly taylor. always have always will.”

Despite the controversy surrounding Carpenter’s relationship with Swift related to the Feather singer’s SKIMS campaign, the lingerie company owned owned by long-time Swift rival Kim Kardashian.

Though some fans speculated that Taylor would be upset with Carpenter for the brand deal, but Swift and Carpenter’s friendship seems to be unaffected.

The two have been spotted out together several times since the campaign’s release, including last month at the VMAs after party.
