After reuniting for a reunion tour, Jane’s Addiction cancels the tour after two band members come to blows on stage during a concert.

During the concert in Boston, lead singer Perry Farrell became enraged and threw a punch at guitarist Dav Navarro. Crew members quickly rushed to the stage to restrain Farrell, who was hustled offstage.

The Show Won’t Go On

After the Boston show abruptly ended on a sour note, the group announced that the remainder of their tour was canceled in a post on social media.

“To all the fans, the band have made the difficult decision to take some time away as a group,” read a statement released on Sept. 16. “As such, they will be canceling the remainder of the tour.”

The tour was already halfway through their dates, with only 15 shows left to go. The tour was scheduled to continue until mid-October when Jane’s Addiction would end the reunion tour at LA’s YouTube Theater.

The statement assured fans that “refunds for the canceled dates will be issued at your point of purchase.” The band’s socials directed ticket holders to outlets like StubHub and SeatGeek to contact for refunds.

This is disappointing news for many fans of Jane’s Addiction since this was the band’s long-awaited reunion tour, and would be their first time playing together in 14 years.

Jane’s Addiction Calls It Quits (Again)

Navarro released a separate statement on his socials, signed by him and bandmates Stephen Perkins and Eric Avery, giving more insight into the band’s decision to take another break.

“Due to a continuing pattern of behavior and the mental health difficulties of our singer Perry Farrell, we have come to the conclusion that we have no choice but to discontinue the current US tour,” his Instagram post began.

Navarro continued, “Our concern for his personal health and safety as well as our own has left us no alternative. We hope that he will find the help he needs.” We deeply regret that we are not able to come through for all our fans who have already bought tickets,” he wrote, adding, “We can see no solution that would either ensure a safe environment on stage or reliably allow us to deliver a great performance on a nightly basis. Our hearts are broken. Dave, Eric and Stephen.”

Perry Farrel Apologizes to Fans and Band Mates

Farrel took to his Instagram Stories to share a statement about the incident, writing, “This weekend has been incredibly difficult and after having the time and space to reflect, it is only right that I apologize to my bandmates, especially Dave Navarro, fans, family and friends for my actions during Friday’s show.”

“Unfortunately, my breaking point resulted in inexcusable behavior, and I take full accountability for how I chose to handle the situation,” continued Farrell.

It is unclear if or when the band members will reconcile for the third time.
